Frequently Asked Questions
-
Who is this service for?
Our services are primarily for high school and college-aged young men, particularly those facing decisions about college, career paths, or life transitions. We also work with collegiate athletic teams and schools looking to support students in their personal development, and adults looking for career or personal guidance.
-
Do you work with girls and women?
Yes! We believe the Highlands Ability Battery and our consulting can benefit women and girls greatly. While our expertise and experience is predominantly with men and boys, we strive to help anyone on their journey!
-
What does the process look like?
After a 15 minute intake call, clients complete the HAB online, on their own time, in about 3.5 hours. Once completed, we schedule a 2-hour, one-on-one consultation to unpack the results. Additional sessions or packages may follow depending on your goals.
-
Is this available online or only in person?
The assessment is taken online, and consultations can be conducted virtually or in person depending on location and availability.
-
Can parents be involved in the process?
Absolutely. We offer optional parent debriefs and welcome questions. We encourage students to share results with parents first, and for us to fill in the gaps! Unsurprisingly, parents often find it helpful to better understand how their son is wired in order to best support his next steps.
-
Do my results change over time?
No, abilities as we define them are stable and develop naturally by age 14 or 15. They remain essentially unchanged throughout the rest of your life. Skills can be added, goals and interests can change, but natural abilities are constant. Considering this, your highlands assessment is a partner tool for the rest of your life.
